November 9th, 2016 – 8pm
My friend and I marched with our generation in Downtown Los Angeles last night. Thousands of young and fired-up millennials rallied to protest the president elect.
NOT MY PRESIDENT!
PUSSY GRABS BACK!
HAY, HAY, HO, HO, DONALD TRUMP HAS GOT TO GO!
LOVE TRUMPS HATE!
WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS!
SAY IT LOUD, SAY IT CLEAR — IMMIGRANTS ARE WELCOME HERE!
THE PEOPLE, UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED!
WE REJECT THE PRESIDENT ELECT!
As we walked through the wide and decorated streets of DTLA, we passed homeless people with smiles spreading ear-to-ear, we shut-down intersections where people driving home from work honked in celebration, and we rejoiced with every body on a patio or hanging from a window who held up signs and cheered along in support of the cause.
A very powerful moment for everyone was when we passed by the Metropolitan Detention Center. As we walked toward the towering prison, lights shined through the slim windows, beckoning us forward and encouraging us onward. The jail cells lit up like a Christmas tree as we shouted – FREE THE PEOPLE!
Last night satisfied the soul for so many of us. We shout and march for all Americans who have been disrespected by the person who has been crowned – a man who lacks a sprinkle of integrity and represents everything this country rejects. The fight is not over nor won, but we are united and we cannot be divided.
This election has shown us the issues with our current system. America’s 45th president stands for the injustice that plagues our county. The leaders of the free world are corrupt, but the people are good and the people are compassionate. No matter what the future may hold for our land of the free, we will stand together.
