Bottled Emotions

I wrote this poem a while ago for myself, but I wanted to share it with the Blogosphere to remind everyone that biting your tongue doesn’t just hurt in the moment, but can come back and hurt someone you care about in an explosion of haunted truths.

You know who you are, this is for you…

Bottled Emotions

Close the lid tightly,

take it in lightly

A smile can seal the deal,

bottled up inside

Emotions swirl about,

tipping, breaking out

“Pop” the cork goes flying

Forgotten feelings spill

Shattered glass it stabs,

re-wounding the wounded past

An empty bottle lies ready

Refills on the rise.
